Super Channel picks up Aussie, UK series
Super Channel has closed a deal with Portman Film & Television for a raft of imported titles, including ITV's Kingdom and the BBC political drama Party Animals. Also included in the deal, revealed on Tuesday, are the hit Australian drama Sea Patrol, the New Zealand series Doves of War, Orange Roughies and several movies.
Launched this fall, the pay-TV channel has been on the hunt for programming not already held by its competitors, Movie Central and The Movie Network. Super Channel airs on Bell ExpressVu and was recently picked up by Rogers Cable.
"There were so many terrific titles available from Portman that we felt would enhance Super Channel's offering. We had to have this valuable resource for Canadians as we grow our viewing options," says Super Channel VP, programming Sandy Perkins. "Super Channel will continue to bring Canadians the best the world has to offer."
