CP24 bowing 5 pm newscast
On Jan. 14, CP24 will launch Live At 5, the earliest television newscast in the Toronto market, where competitors of the CTVglobemedia-owned station don't commence news shows until 5:30 or later.
The daily Live At 5 newscast will be hosted by veteran CP24 anchors Ann Rohmer and George Lagogianes. The focus will be on breaking stories as well as local news and weather affecting Torontonians, plus the latest traffic developments and public transit updates from across the city. The show will also feature breaking entertainment news and live updates of the day's top business news.
"There is an obvious appetite for early evening news, and CP24 is thrilled to be the first out of the gate providing Torontonians with live news at 5 pm," says VP/GM Bob McLaughlin.
