Lakeport lands fish sponsorship
Insight Sports and WFN: World Fishing Network announced yesterday that Hamilton, Ont.-based Lakeport Brewing has been named the official beer sponsor of the 2008 WFN Tour Bass Championships. The Pro-Am Canadian fishing circuit features five Ontario-based events and a total of $1,000,000 in prizes.
Lakeport will have exclusive pouring rights at all WFN Tour Bass Championship gala events, and on-site execution will include the presence of the Lakeport Zone beer garden. As well, as part of the WFN Tour Bass Championships TV broadcasts, the "Lakeport Hot Seat" - an interactive discussion forum featuring the event's top professional anglers - has been created. It will feature a branded recliner for interviews with top professional anglers, and debut at the Toronto Sportsmen's Show (March 12-16).
Coverage of each WFN tour event will be broadcast on WFN as well as a national television network (TBD). The WFN Tour will also present a season-ending WFN Angler of the Year award as well as a Big Fish award - presented to the angler who catches the heaviest fish at each event.
"We're looking forward to partnering with Lakeport - a brand that's synonymous with sportsmen and the Canadian outdoors - as we continue to grow and promote the inaugural edition of the WFN Tour Bass Championships through innovative initiatives such as the Lakeport Hot Seat," comments Dan Cimoroni, Insight Sports' VP of sports and entertainment.
