Transcontinental acquires ThinData
Montreal-HQ'd printer Transcontinental announced yesterday that it has acquired ThinData, a leading Canadian permission-based email marketing services firm.
The purpose of the deal is to enhance Transcontinental's print and direct marketing with the power and speed of ThinData's electronic marketing, says Guy Manuel, president of Transcontinental's marketing products and services sector. "The expansion of our strategic relationship brings together ThinData's agility, innovation and leadership in the e-marketing space with [our] expertise, resources and geographic reach."
Adds Transcontinental president/CEO François Olivier: "One of [our] priorities is to develop new platforms for growth. Working with ThinData, an email marketing leader, ensures our clients have the tools to optimize their marketing efficiency. ThinData's co-founders, CEO Chris Carder and Chief Technology Officer Chancellor Crawford, will retain minority equity positions in ThinData and continue in their respective roles.
