CP24 tops Weather Network during T.O. storm
CTVglobemedia's CP24 recorded more viewers than the Weather Network when Toronto's residents turned to the tube for info during Saturday's winter storm.
The station's BBM Nielsen numbers for March 8 counted a reach of 1.7 million viewers (6 am to 6 am) who tuned in to some part of the coverage. It was the second-highest audience reach in the station's history. In Toronto's central market, CP24 attracted more viewers than The Weather Network's 1.5 million.
CP24 reports viewers in Toronto tuned in to CP24 several times throughout the day and stayed with the station for extended periods of time to receive the latest breaking information. The station's team went into full storm watch mode for the day.

While wireless carrier Telus Mobility continued to dominate the chart, hitting #1 for the third consecutive week, the Sony Store appeared out of nowhere at #2. Ditto for Kelsey's Restaurants, which climbed to #6. Another '08 newcomer was RBC, which took the #9 spot. Bravo plans its April sked
Bravo is premiering Rhythm, Roots & Soul (pictured) Fridays at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT, beginning April 4. The new series profiles R&B, soul, gospel and roots musicians through their own words and music.
The channel's also moving Bravo!VIDEOS to a new time slot, Tuesdays at 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT, starting on April 1. The weekly half-hour program will focus on Leslie Feist - the indie artist who's had quite a year - on April 8.
K.D. Lang: Live at the Rehearsal Hall, in which the Alberta-born singer performs songs from her new Watershed album. airs Tuesday, April 1 at 10 pm ET/PT. Chasing Wild Horses, a documentary about famed fashion photographer Roberto Dutesco and his passion for horses, airs Sunday, April 6 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
The channel's also planned a Beethoven Night for Saturday, April 12, including: Lunatic Van Beethoven at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT; Roll Over Beethoven: Paul Verville & Beethoven's Last Piano Sonata at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT; Beethoven's Hair at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT; and Symphonic Landscapes: Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at 10:30 pm ET/7:30 pm PT.
