Weather Network blows into Facebook

The Weather Network and MétéoMédia have launched an interactive weather application on Facebook. In both English and French, the app allows users to view current conditions and short-term forecasts for cities of their choice within their Facebook profile.
Developed in-house, the innovation enables users to easily access long-term forecasts, weather warnings, alerts and other weather info for over 5,000 cities in Canada and around the world. As well as weather data, the application offers the ability to send messages and current forecast information to Facebook friends.
"We believe this new application will quickly become a favourite among Facebook users," says Carrie Lysenko, manager of online applications for both networks. "This is just another way we are responding to the needs of Canadians by providing convenient access to their most reliable and trusted weather information."
