Pizza Hut rebranded as Pasta Hut?

Nope, the pizza chain didn't really change its famous moniker. What startled American consumers on Monday - when Pizza Huts sported restaurant banners and a new logo, and TV and print ads ran to announce a rebranding to Pasta Hut - was actually an April Fool's Day spoof.

But the ploy was also a clever strategy to grab a lot of attention for the introduction of new pasta menu items.

Gordon named CHUM Radio president

CTVglobemedia announced yesterday that Chris Gordon has been appointed president of the company's radio division, effective immediately.

With CHUM Radio for the past 10 years, Gordon was most recently VP/GM of CFRA, TEAM 1200, Majic 100, Bob 93.9 FM and A-Channel Ottawa. Prior to joining CHUM, he held senior radio positions in London and Calgary, building a solid track record in both small and large markets.

"Chris brings a unique mix of skills as a successful operator of a combined radio/TV station group and as a strategist with well-developed insights into the future of the fiercely competitive Canadian radio industry," notes Ivan Fecan, president/CEO of CTVglobemedia and CEO of CTV.

Gordon is succeeding Duff Roman, who served as acting head of the CHUM Radio group during the transition period, and will remain with the company in an unspecified capacity.
