Teletoon puts a little Kung-Fu into movie contest
Maple Pictures' April 18 theatrical release of The Forbidden Kingdom is getting some interactive promotion from Teletoon and the net's edgier programming block for teens and adults, The Detour.
The tooncaster is driving viewers to Teletoon.com to test out their kung-fu skills by smashing through wooden blocks in order to win entries to the Forbidden Kingdom Are You Kung Fu? contest, which runs for three weeks.
The contest has already garnered more than 41,000 entries. It is being supported on-air with 15-seoncd spots and lower-thirds airing during daytime and Detour programming. Prizes include a trip for four to Hong Kong, a movie-themed prize pack or $2,000 worth of martial arts lessons.
