August is time for marathons - on TV, that is
Deja View will live up to its name next month with a Groovy 70's Marathon beginning 8 pm on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, and 11 am on August 4. It features Maude, All in the Family and Good Times.
Showcase has the third season of Regenesis set to air weekdays at 7 pm beginning August 4. On Wednesdays at 10 pm, there are new episodes of Big Love, Season One (Bill Paxton). And the Labour Day Movie Marathon begins Saturday, August 30.
Showcase Diva airs the second season of Joey weekends at 8 pm. A Thriller Movie Marathon begins Friday, August 1. There's also an eight-hour marathon of the eighth season of Charmed starting on Sunday, August 31.
And as the month ends, TVtropolis will run a Labour Day marathon of Beverly Hills 90210 beginning Monday, September 1 at 10 am.
Meanwhile on W, Canada's hot cooking couple and hosts of What's For Dinner have returned to prime-time television to teach audiences fresh and fun recipes, and likely to reprise their bickering, er, banter. Ken Kostick and Mary Jo Eustace have united for a new half-hour cooking show produced by Up Front Entertainment called He Said, She Said with Ken & Mary Jo. It premiered yesterday, July 2, at noon and will air every Wednesday and Friday at noon and 4 pm.
During each of the 65 episodes, the pair will make two different meals using one key ingredient, along with a side dish made from five easy ingredients. The show will also feature guest appearances. "It's like a dream come true - or a nightmare, depending on how you look at it - to be reunited with the most dependable attractive man I know," says Eustace. "Too bad he's taken and wears more make up than I do."
