Volkswagen signs on as iPhone partner
Volkswagen Canada announced yesterday that it will be the official domestic launch partner when the Apple iPhone 3G launches here tomorrow.
As well, The Score - owner of specialty TV provider The Score Television Network - will be providing a free web application called Score Mobile iPhone Edition. The service will offer users previews and real-time box scores for MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, CFL and NCAA football and basketball games.
"We are always looking for new and innovative ways to bring our brand to the consumer," says Volkswagen Canada's director of marketing and communications, Bruce Rosen. "The iPhone and The Score combine two passions shared by Volkswagen drivers: sports and intuitive technology."
An online contest running from July 11 to August 15 will determine the winner of an Apple iPhone with three years of voice, data and text message services. Participants can register at www.thescore.com/scoremobile.
And, hey, now that Rogers has caved to consumer demands to reduce iPhone fees, Canadians might actually sign up for it.
