Newcap nabs 12 Ontario FM licenses
Dartmouth, NS-based Newfoundland Capital Corp., a.k.a. Newcap Radio, has made a push to expand its radio broadcasting fleet in an agreement with the Ontario-HQ'd Haliburton Broadcasting Group.
The $18.95 million deal, which is subject to CRTC approval, will see Newcap acquire 12 FM radio broadcasting licenses in Ontario, including stations in Muskoka, North Bay and Timmins. "This group of licenses is the most significant geographical expansion for Newcap since 2002 and considerably expands our reach in Ontario," says Robe Steele, Newcap president and CEO.
