Astral Media re-orgs radio sales
Yesterday, Toronto-HQ'd Astral Media announced that its IMS Radio division has relaunched as Astral Media Radio Sales.
EVP/GM Lesley Conway-Kelley says the new group "aims to present focused, integrated solutions to clients beyond traditional airtime campaigns, [ultimately] changing the approach to selling national radio in Canada."
Conway-Kelley adds that the launch of Astral Media Radio Sales has meant a significant restructuring. Account reps will now service a national customer base, while research and marketing will "become ever more prolific."
As well, a new creative services division has been launched. Headed by VP Murray Christenson, it will include a media creativity department under the supervision of Melissa Morris, director of national promotions and media creativity. To enhance the new "one client - one representative" approach, Joan Kaminski has been appointed VP of national sales.
The overall goal, says Conway-Kelley, is "to marry clients' objectives with station initiatives at every possible occasion, utilizing a range of Astral Media Radio assets including on-air and online radio content, national promotions, special events and targeted programming."
