Omni to expand reach of Chinese cinema
Station-wide scheduling for the popular series Chinese Super Cinema is set for Rogers Omni Television stations beginning Saturday, Sept. 20 - with some Asian films making their Canadian debut. Stations and times include Omni 2 and Omni BC at 8 pm, and Omni Alberta at 9 pm.
"Chinese Super Cinema offers a subtitled genre that reaches across cultures and generations each week," says Madeline Ziniak, national VP of Rogers Omni Television. "Ontario viewers have demonstrated their loyalty for the series, and we anticipate viewership will skyrocket when we introduce Chinese Super Cinema to an additional two million households."
The series will feature first-run movies - recent releases and award-winners such as Sparrows, directed by Johnny To (2008), and Secret, directed by Jay Chou (2007).
