Canadian Primedia to rep Manitoba newspapers
In a deal announced yesterday, Toronto-based Canadian Primedia Sales & Marketing has landed exclusive national sales representation for the Brandon Sun and seven other newspapers in the Winnipeg-HQ'd Canstar Community News chain, effective Sept. 1.
The Brandon Sun, which publishes seven days per week, claims to reach over 84% of its region's adults. The Canstar Community newspapers - the Herald, Lance, Metro, Times, Headliner, Uptown and The Prime Times - have a combined distribution of 180,000 per week in the Winnipeg area.
"[The publications] are key media properties in the province of Manitoba," says Primedia principal Ron Clark. "The Brandon Sun is the newspaper of record in Manitoba's second-largest city, and the Canstar Community newspapers have a powerful reach into the important Winnipeg market. I am especially pleased to add these media properties to our expanding reach into Western Canada."
