MTV in Canada going live on the streets
MTV will host three cross-country tours this month: MTV Live, the LifeStyles Condom Love Fest and the Rogers Music Store Presents MTV's The Leak Live tour, with an appearance in Toronto by Paris Hilton (pictured).
MTV Live will stop at four campuses to have students rate their frosh week. After hitting St. Francis Xavier in Antigonish, NS, the University of Manitoba and University of Saskatchewan, the tour will end on Sept. 6 at the University of Ottawa with an outdoor concert featuring performances by Canadian hip-hop artists Cadence Weapon and Classified. Highlights from the tour, hosted by Daryn Jones, will air Monday, Sept. 15 at 6 pm and 11 pm ET.
The LifeStyles Condoms Love Fest tour, hosted by MTV in Canada and MTV's Staying Alive global HIV and AIDS awareness initiative, will begin with DJ Dopey at nightclubs and campus venues in 14 cities. The Toronto stop on Sept. 13 will be hosted by Paris Hilton and headlined by Good Charlotte's Benji Madden. The site www.mtv.ca/lovefest offers a complete list of tour dates and venues.
The Rogers Music Store Presents MTV's The Leak Live tour, with Canadian band Mobile, will kick off from MTV headquarters at Toronto's Masonic Temple on Sept. 22 before heading out to six universities. MTV Live and MTV News will provide live coverage from each event.
Fans can interact with the tour across MTV platforms including MTV www.mtv.ca and by using Rogers phones. Viewers can access The Leak Live tour info on www.mtv.ca/leaklive starting Sept. 15 or by texting LEAK to 4849 on a Rogers phone for exclusive access to the "Leak Hub" with tour dates, video blogging from the band, music videos, live performance coverage, ring tones and mobile alerts for all MTV updates on the tour.
