After achieving supermodel status by appearing on the cover of more than 700 magazines, plus selling millions of calendars, posters and exercise videos, Carol Alt became a novelist earlier this year, penning This Year's Model.
Now her publisher, HarperCollins imprint Avon A, together with fashion retailer Lord & Taylor, is revving up excitement for Alt's upcoming sequel - Next Year's Model - with a contest whose winner will get to be the cover model on the book.
Contestants (female only) can post photos of themselves on a microsite until Nov. 20. The next day, Alt and two other fashion experts will select four finalists for the next round - when the public will get to vote on who will grace the book cover.
