PunkRadioCast dials up the content
Toronto-based Fork Radio's online alt rock/punk radio station, PunkRadioCast.com, is expanding, adding new programming and features to fill a void resulting from the loss of XM Radio's Fungus 53 and Sirius Punk.
New programming on the PunkRadioCast stream includes Complete Control Radio (hosted by Side One Dummy Records co-founder Joe Sib), Sex Talk with Fat Mike (NOFX) and Josey Vogels, We.Are.Canadian, Issue Oriented with Ronen Kauffman and Define the Meaning (hosted by Define the Meaning Magazine owners). More programming is set to roll out throughout the remainder of 2008.
The online radio station also plans on modifying its flash player to the benefit of advertisers, enabling it to become a clickable banner during the airing of their audio advertisements. Those listeners interested in pursuing a purchase, or more information on the products featured in audio ads, will be able to travel to the advertisers' websites simply by clicking on the flash player - while maintaining their connection to the PunkRadioCast stream.
Fork Radio's Fork adPanel, which launched in June, will record each click for advertisers, providing them with a statistical measurement like that used with banner advertising. More features, for both advertisers and listeners, are in the works. PunkRadioCast.com, which sees about 2 million website impressions per month, broadcasts 24/7 to over 20 million unique opt-in listeners a month, directed from other websites.
