MDC Partners' communications co Zig has just been named agency of record for Toys "R" Us Canada. Following a closed review earlier this year, the win, which includes media, extends to both the Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us brands.
"Zig has demonstrated impressive insight and understanding of our key strategic initiatives," says Toys "R" Us Canada VP marketing Liz Macdonald in a recent release, adding that the move will help "better articulate the Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us brands' unique attributes."
Marketing plans are already underway and expected to play up through a variety of creative communications efforts in 2010. Media, handled by Zig's internal media department, has already been planned and bought for the 2009 holiday period.
